FATE OF A SPECIAL FAMILY PENSIONER

Smt.Andal w/o Late Sub.TP.Durairaj

IN ORDINATE DELAY IN REVISON OF SPECIAL FAMILY PENSION

It has come to our knowledge that one Smt.Andal w/o Late Subedar TP.Durairaj( JC 38602) , Group ‘B’ was sanctioned with Special Family pension from 1972.

The pension was not revised as per V th Pay Commission, CDA cir 282 , Table No.3.with effect from 1-1-1996, at the rate of Rs.3462. The same was not further revised as per VI th Pay commission CDA cir 397, Annexure-I. @ Rs7825/-also by the PDA, Indian Bank, Erode ,Main.Tamil Nadu.

The discrepancy was noticed by the AGs Office Auditors during their insprction and advised to revise the same. The PDA revised the pension from 1-1-2006 and paid the arrears up to 31-7-2010. The PDA did not pay the arrears from 1-1-1996 to 31-12-2005, hence the Pensioner approached the Adalat Officials for getting the arrears.

The Adalat Officials, not bothering the report of the AGs Office Auditors , sought confirmation from Record office ,AOC(Secunderabad), whether the widow was eligible for Special Family pension , and the Group of the deceased Subedar, which was already verified and confirmed by AGs Auditors.Taking this advantage, the PDA, has not paid the arrears for want of confirmation from Record Office.

Our Welfare Trust also requested the AOC Record Office to guide the PDA to pay the arrears at the correct rate of Rs3462/ wef 1-1-96 ( arrearsWorked out – Rs. 368000 plus ) but received no response.

Now the Record Office has replied to the bank and some others ,not connected with this issue, confirming the Group as ‘B” and the widow is eligible for a Spl.Fp. of Rs.2550 from 1-1-1996 and Rs.7000 from 1-1-2006.

This rate is a minimum Spl.Fp for wife of a Sepoy, thus misguiding the PDA. The PDA has already revised the pension as Rs.7825 from 1-1-2006, and now the Record office is informing the rate as Rs.7000/ - confusing the PDA.and misleading.

Due to the Adalat official’s ignorance, and AOC Record Office misguidance, the PDA is not in a position to disburse the legitimate pension arrears to the aged, bedridden widow of a Subedar.

Let us pray that the bedridden widow at the age of 79, gets her entitled arrears in her life time itself.

We request our ESM organisations to help such pensioners.
