LTS. AND CAPTAINS AND.HONY.LT AND HONY.CAPT. MAY BE BENEFITED .

GOOD NEWS FOR LT. AND CAPT AND HONY.LT AND HONY.CAPT. AND EQUAL RANKS
iN AIR FORCE AND NAVY.

The Armed Forces Tribunal has given a judgment for revision of Pension as per the
VI th PC fitment formula to Major and equal Ranks.. Likewise the others also may get the benefit , if they approach the AFT in their respective centers.

For Example : Captain :

Pay scale as per V th Pay commission : 9600-300-11400 Rank pay-400
Minimum pay in the scale is 9600 +400= 10000. Fitment formula as per VI th PC is Multiplying by factor 1.86
i.e Pay as per VI th PC will be -10000x 1.86=18600 plus Grade pay + MSP
=18600 + 5700+6000=30300
50% of pay is the pension . = 30300/2= 15150
This is the Minimum Basic pension of a Captain and equal ranks in Air Force and Navy
.

But, at present they are getting the pension as 15600+6100+6000=2700/2=13850

Same way a Hony Captain:with 28 yrs and above service

Pay scale as per V th PC = 10850
Fitment as per VI th by multiplying the factor 1.86 wii be 10850x1.86=20181 +GP+MSP
The pay will be = 20181+6100+6000=32281
50% of pay will be the pension , hence Pension = 32281/2=16140.
This will be pension for Hony.Capt and equal Ranks in Air Force and Navy.
But they are getting at present= 15600+6100+6000=27700/2=13850

SIMILARLY FOR HONY –LT

Pay scale as per V th PC------10500
As per fitment formula…..multiplying by factor 1.86= 10500x1.86=19530 +GP+MSP
Pay = 19530+5400+6000= 30930
50% of the pay is the pension = 30930/2=15465
Presently they are getting a basic pension of 13500
This is the anomaly and this can be settled only through courts, now our Armed Forces Tribunals at various centers. Effected officers can apply and try.

  2. Thanks for posting your rationale/calculation. I concur with your contention. This calculation needs to be done for all other ranks so that some rationality is injected into the system of pension in the Armed Forces.
The fact that Mr Srikrishna & colleages spent near about 3 years to formulate the 6CPC ONLY to see that almost 90% of it had to undergo amendments eg Circular 430 for Sub Majs/Subs/Nb Subs/Nb Subs/Hony Nb Subs/Havs, Nks/Hony Nks, Sepoys & equivalents, Lt Cols from Pay Band 3 to PB 4, Pension of Lt gens hiked to Rs 36500 seaks poorly of those who dealt with this subject without incorporating Armed Forves personnel as members. If only they had done so, these embarrassing amendments would have been avoided.

  8. Many AFTs have given their verdicts in favour of Hony Commissioned Officers. It is not understood as to my the Min of Def is not implementing the same. It is totally open injustic.

  9. I retireed from Army Corps of Signals on 01 Sep 2006 and my pension was fixed Rs 13500 pm from my date of retirement. The same was revised to Rs 15465 pm wef 24/09/2012 due to some anomaly noticed in 6th pay commission. However, Supreme Court in its verdict ruled that the anomaly notices at later date in 6th pay commission to be paid from 01 Jan 2006 on case filed by pre 01 Jan 2006. The same has been implemented for the pre 01 Jan 2006 and post 01 Jan 2006 retirees have been left in lurk. On approaching PCDA pension Allahabad they replied that they have received the instructions to pay the arrears to pre 01 Jan 2006 retirees and no instruction have been received for post 01 Jan 2006 which is an injustice to post 01 Jan 2006 retirees and now PCDA has issued 568 circular for delinking 33 year service for pre 01 Jan 2006 retirees according to which Hony Lt pension is to be fixed to Rs 15465 pm i.e. 50 percent of Rs 30930 fitment. Whereas post 01 Jan 2006 retirees Hony Lt pension was fixed to Rs 13500 pm 50 PERCENTAGEof Rs 27000. May I request you to confirm if post 01 Jan 2006 retiree Hony. Lt/Capt are entitled for revision of their pension from their date of retirement to 23/09/2016 or otherwise for our next course of action to get ratify this issue.
