HOTEL JANAKIRAM, THE VENUE OF THE SEMINAR
ENTRANCE TO THE MEETING HALL
The Pension seminar was attended by more than 80 pensioners.
Each pensioner collected more than two books for giving to their friends.
Our main aim of the meeting was to educate all our pensioners
and family pensioners to know their entitlements.
Many pensioners clarified doubts about writing a Will from
Shri Ganapathy, (A guest lecturer) on the seminar.
Some of the social problems also came up at the seminar.
They are:-
1. Some widows who are getting the full pension, and some of them
are even employed are not looking after the parents of the
deceased exservicemen/soldier.
2. Few War wounded soldiers, are not getting proper employment.
3. The wife of one War wounded soldier created lot of problem for
getting divorce with huge monetary gain.
There is no legal support for the wounded soldier.
4. The additional pension arrears which was arranged by the trust
for some aged pensioners, were grabbed by their children by force
in many cases.
5. The seminar had witnessed some sons and daughters of
exservicemen remain unmarried to look after
their wodower father.
6. The seminar witnessed that the daughters of many aged
pensioners are very much helpful to their parents.
7. The importance of starting an aged home was felt
very urgent in some cases.
