EXWEL TRUST CONDUCTS A SEMINAR ON PENSION

A seminar on pensioners problems was arranged on 19-12-2010.

A book on “ Pensioners to know” ,in Tamil , written by Veteran Sgt.C.Muthukrishnan was released by our Managing Trustee Sgt.R.Chellappa and the first copy was received by Wing Commander P.J.Victor (Retd). On receiving the copy, he appreciated our trust for the sincere services being rendered to the veterans and their families.

Sgt.C.Muthukrishnan explained in detail about the VI th Pay commission , the Plus and Minus points. As a whole the Pay commission disappointed the Defence personnel. They equated the Defence personnel with Civilians which is not justified. He advised the veterans to know of their own rate of pension and to be aware of the happenings.

Dr.T.Senthil from Govt.Hospital gave a useful lecture on “Thyanam” . By this one can release their mental tension and have a peaceful and sound sleep in this old age.

Sgt.Kanthiah explained various points pertains to veterans and Families like, Endorsement of family pension, to inform the changes in the family status , importance of Part II order. Additional pension for 80yrs and above pensioners and disability pension. Anomaly in Pre and Post 2006 pension fixation by an illustration.

Our managing Trustee Sgt.R.Chellappa gave a brief of future plans of our Trust like starting an old age home or a community hall for veterans in our area.He also suggested to prepare a Phamplet containg full particulars of Defence / Civil service and all other important informations for every individual to aviod hardship at latter stage.

Our Chief Admin.Officer Hony Flt.Lt. M.Packia Natarajan gave a summary of our Trust activities and achievements in brief and requested all the veterans and families to be aware of their entitlements and ready for any agitation for getting our dues if needed.

Mr.K.Ganapathy, a Retired Sub -Registrar gave a brief lecture on settlement of property and necessity of writting a" WILL"for avoiding complications between the family members.

All the veterans were very happy about the meeting and wished for such a meetings in regular intervals.

A delicious Lunch was served to all the veterans and families.

A Special daily Calendar -2011 of our Trust and a book on “Pensioner to Know” were given to all the Participants in the seminar.

A CD on Defence Pension in Power Point slides was made available to the needy pensioners. The Exwel Trust's activities were shown on power point slides during the meeting. Maximum hi tech audio visual aides were used to educate the pensioners on their entitlements including publishing a book. The contents of the book were explained in detail by the Author. The book was well received by all the pensioners.
