CASUAL VISIT OF A GENERAL MANAGER- TN HOUSING CORPN,

We are happy that  One General Manager  of Tamil Nadu  Police Housing Corporation, Chennai,  paid a casual visit to  our Welfare Trust on 28-12-2017.  

ON his official visit , he spared his  valuable time  to visit our Trust.

Mr.S.Velumani ( Veteran ), a regular visitor of our Exwel Trust Blog, appreciated our services to Ex-Servicemen  community  and wished  all our Trust Members  to be Hale and Healthy  for many more years.

We thanked him for his visit  and valuable comments.

PROTEST MARCH BY ESMS AGAINST SHIFTING OF MILITARY CANTEEN,

A protest march was held on 27-12-2017 by Tirunelveli Ex-Servicemen  against shifting of  Military canteen to another Place. Large number of Ex-servicemen  took part in the procession.
A Memorandum was presented to District collector  by a Team Headed by  Veteran K.Chelladurai, General Secretary of District ESM Association requesting  not to shift the canteen to the Proposed location which is very much in-secure and inconvenient to our veterans and families..

On intensive drive and interaction with  widow pensioners, we noticed that most of the widows are not paid with arrears –LTA as per CDA cir 568- De-Linking 33 yrs which was DUE to their Husbands  who died after 01-01-06

Example:. One Case ….. One Sepoy, V.Kandan,  a War injured veteran died

on 29-3-2014.,

Account converted to Family pension.   Wife: smt. K.Santhanam.

PDA: Canara bank, Palayamkottai .  Tirunelveli-Dist, TN.

The deceased veteran was eligible for Arrears as per CDA cir 560/568 with effect from 01-01-2006 to 29-3-2014, which is to be paid to his wife

In spite of her repeated request/ representation  to Branch as well as to CPPC, there is no response so far. It is more than a  years passed. .

The widow approached us for a help in this regard.

We, as an Ex-Servicemen Welfare Trust  also represented the case by letter, phone  but no fruitful result.

Likewise, there are many cases, the widows not knowing their entitlement particularly this LTA.  The Banks will not take any initiative of their own.

It is the widows, who have to report the non payment of LTA to banks. 

But most of them are not that educated to know these  orders.

In view of the above facts, we request our Veteran brothers and ESM Associations to help such affected widows in your areas for getting their Arrears-LTA  as per CDA cir 560/ 568.

This will be a great service to Widows of our veteran brothers.

On going through his documents , we noticed  that he is being paid correct Rate of pension.

We also noticed that he was discharged with Disability Element under Low Medical Category, hence he was eligible  for Broad banding.

We prepared the Annexure for Broad banding  as per Cir 429/ 529 and guided him to forward the same to his Record Office through his PDA.

The veteran was happy with our action and thanked us for this  valuable help.

LATEST INFORMATION FOR REGISTERATION  AS EX-SERVICEMEN
  IN DSS BOARD./ZILLA SAINIK BOARD.

As per latest news from Dept.of ESM Welfare, 

Those who are retiring/ Discharged  recently are to Register their Name in their DSS Board-on line  from Now onward.

For existing Ex-Servicemen ,

They have to visit their DSS Board with their Original PPO, Discharge Book, Aadhar card, PAN card  and Bank Pass Book .

These Documents  will be  scanned  and uploaded  and our DATAs will be registered.

The readers  of this Blog are requested to convey this information to other veterans  also in your areas.

PLIGHT OF WIDOWS FOR GETTING THEIR PENSION AFTER DEMISE OF THEIR HUSBANDS.

                        PLIGHT OF WIDOWS IN GETTING THEIR PENSION  ..

ABNORMAL DELAY IN SWITCHING OVER TO FAMILY PENSION BY BANKS.

It has come to our notice that some banks are taking abnormal time in switching over to Family pension, even though the JOINT NOTIFICATION   is existing.

One of  the branches of a Nationalised Bank has delayed the switching over as under. .

The pensioner died on 13-6-2017, the widow has reported the occurrence to the PDA.

This pension account is already a Joint account  with this widow.

After a few days, the widow has submitted the Death certificate and the required  Documents for  converting to Family pension.

The PDA, after verifying  the documents and the genuineness  of the claim, has forwarded the Documents to their CPPC in July 2017 itself.

After a month period, the widow approached the branch  and inquired about the  progress about her claim.  The reply was, we have not received the conversion.

Then, after two months also , the reply was the same. 

After three months also,  the pension was not credited.

The widow approached our Trust for a help in this regard.

We represented the delay in converting to Family pension ,as the 

Joint Notification and Joint account  already existing , by a letter and .over phone. 

Now it is more than 6 months passed, the pension is not credited ,

The  widow is facing  sever financial hardship and mental agony without pension..

In view of the above facts, we suggest that  where ever  the Joint Notification is available in the PPO, the paying branch itself may switch over to Family pension,  if the genuineness is established  and start Disbursing the eligible rate of pension and report to their CPPC for updating the PARTICULARS/ DATAs  in the package (system)

The process of Documentation may continue , as the widow will be drawing her pension through the same branch only. Any  excess payment may be recovered  as per undertaking .

We request that  these points may be brought to the notice of Apex level of Bankers by all veterans and ESM Associations...

On going through  her pass book entries, we noticed that she is being paid correct Rate of Family pension .  But, her Date of birth is 1-1-1936, hence  completed  80 yrs of age as on 1-1-2016  and eligible for Additional Pension of 20%, but not paid

We reported this discrepancy to her PDA and CPPC for Revision.

The widow was very much happy with our action and thanked us for this
