TWO DAYS PENSION MELA AT
KOVILPATTI-TUTICORIN-DIST TN.
On the demand and request by NEXCC President , Kovilpatti,
the ESM Help line Centre , Chennai arranged for 2 days pension mela on 25 and
26 th February 2013, and our Trust was specially invited to participate and
help.
About 200 pensioners/
family pensioners attended the mela, A spacious hall and all other arrangements
were made by Sub.KesavaRajan, a very sincere and dedicated veteran.
Representatives from SBI,
Canara bank and Indian Banks were present .
Our Trust members interacted with the
pensioners and noted the discrepancies,
4 veterans had not made
endorsement of family pension ( Pre-1985 cases), we provided them with the
required forms for immediate action.
3 ESM were given application for Broad banding of Disability
pension.
A major discrepancy
was non deduction of FMA for the ECHS
members,
Mostly from SBI. The
matter was explained to the SBI, CPPC representative for doing the needful. We insisted not to
recover the entire amount in one installment as the mistake was not from the
veterans.
As a whole the recent
pension melas have created awareness among the Ex-servicemen community the importance of knowing their entitled benefits
through such melas..
ESM help Line centre and
the NEXCC officials appreciated our
Trust for very active participation in the Melas, there by extending sincere help to the veterans and
their families.
Our Trust is very mush satisfied
in helping the ESM communities.
