Dear Veteran brethren, we have time and again published in our Blogs about the plight of special family pensioners (Widows)
The PPO bearing Prefix, ‘ F ‘ is THE INDICATION of special Family Pension . For example F/ 673/ 1988.
On survey from some Banks, we came to know that there are hundreds of special Family Pensioners are still getting Ordinary family pension Only. Most of them are in their fag end of their life, above 80 yrs of age.
We had requested our ESM Associations and veteran brothers to help such PPO holders or guide them to approach us for guidance. We are sorry that no such cases are referred to us so far.
We have on our own efforts helped about 45 Special Family pensioners in getting their correct Rate of SFP , that is Rs.2550 from 1-1-96 ( Cir 282)and Rs.3500/- from 1-1-2006 ( cir 410 ) minimum, and it is more for higher ranks and group. The arrears works out to be more than 5 lacs. Some cases, it is revised as per V th Pay commission and not revised as per VI th Pay commission. And in many cases not revised as per Rank and group.
We once again appeal to you all and our ESM organizations to explain in their meetings and try to help them. Just holding meetings and having a tasty meals alone is not enough. Call for the PPOs of all family pensioners, verify their PPO, find out whether they are Prefix ‘ F’ , ‘F/BC , or F/NA. and whether they are getting the pension as per their husband’s Rank and Group.
This will be a great service to the families of Ex-Servicemen community.
