GOOD NEWS FOR PRE-2006 VETERANS- RANK HELD FOR LESS THAN 10MONTHS.
It is an encouraging information for Pre- 2006 retirees .CDA CIR 551.
The PPOs were issued with clauses Rank Held
and Rank for which pensioned.
]For example – a Sgt who held the Rank of JWO for say 6
months-
It was mentioned in the PPO under Rank Held column as JWO and as SGT under column Rank for which
pensioned.
Here, the veteran was being paid Sgt”s pension only because he held the JWO Rank for less than 10 months.
The matter was taken up
referring CDA Cir 397- Annexure-III –note below- but was not considered.
Now, the latest CDA cir 551, para-6 clearly says that :
“ Pension may be
revised for the Rank held and not the
Rank for which pensioned.
You need not demand for a CORR PPO from PCDA. PDA can revise the pension.”
s
So, the OROP revision
may be done for the Rank held and arrears paid accordingly.
In this Regard, one JWO has complained to AFRO and
received a favorable reply and the DAV has instructed
Bank to revise the pension for the Rank held- JWO instead of SGT,
all our ESM organisations may please guide the veterans suitably.
Armed Forces' PBORs should have been indeed pensioned wd ACP scheme who held SUBSTENTIVE RANK for one year min s those for officers!
