MINIMUM GUARANTEED DISABILITY / WAR INJURY ELEMENT -RECALCULATED.

                                            Disabled veterans.

REVISED CALCULATION  OF DISABILITY/ WAR INJURY ELEMENT –MINIMUM GURANTEED RATE
FOR PRE-2006  PENSIONERS ONLY.-             CDA CIR- 456 AND 542

The Disability/ war injury element was calculated as per Cir 456 as under:

This was calculated on the Minimum  scale of Pay band  +Grade pay+ MSP + Xgp.pay. and ,
30% of this total was for 100% Disability.

For Example:
for a Rank of Sgt. Of Air Force  -X Group:
Pay Band:  5200-20200.   So the calculation was:  5200+2800+2000+1400=11400.
30% of this total  11400x 30%= 3420/-   This is for 100% Disability.
But as per VIth PC, the Minimum  Disability for 100% was -3510/-  hence the  3510 was continued.

Now as per the latest Cir 542,
the   emolument is calculated on the Minimum fitment formula  .
The formula  is –
The pay scale of V th PC  is taken- As per SAFI- 1/S/ 2008 , for the Rank of Sgt: it is 4670-85-5945. The factor 1.86 is taken:
Minimum of the scale  4670   X 1.86= 8686 – rounded to 8690. +2800+200+1400=14890.
Minimum Emolument= 14890    So , 100% Disability is  30% of   14890 =4467.
Previously it was    3510 and now it is 4467, thus a difference of Rs.4467-3510= 957.

Likewise, for each Rank it is to be calculated.  For Officers  Ref.table No-4

There is no change for the ranks of Sep, NK, and Hav of  Y  and Z  Groups.  And Equal ranks in Navy and Air  Force.

You can refer the Charts in the Circular 542 dated 27-5-2015

This is applicable for Pre-2006 pensioners only.

For Post 2006, it is calculated on the emolument  at the time of  Disability

The affected veterans can approach  their PDA for  revising the Rate of Disability / War injury Elements.
