OUR TRUST HELPED A SHAURYA CHAKRA RECIPIENT

Mr.C.Ramamoorthy and his wife at his Residency
Our Trustee Sgt.C.Muthukrishnan with the Ramamoorthy.

Our Liaison Officer  Sgt.S.Kanthiah with the Ramamoorthy.
Our Trust members made a visit to the residence of one Shaurya Chakra Gallantry award recipient .

To our knowledge, this is the only person in receipt of Shaurya Chakra living in  our Area.

Name: C.Ramamoorthy      Rank: Executive Engineer –(Civil)
No: Ex.GO-583 N  - GREF.      Discharged in November 1985.
On going through his pension and other papers, we noticed that he was a Recipient of Shaurya Chakra Gallantry award.  He was being paid the monetary allowance  of  un-revised rate of Rs.1500/-    The Enhanced  Rate is Rs.3000/- with effect from  31-3-2011 as per CDA circular 9 dated 30-3-2011.

We reported the discrepancy to the  PDA, IOB Tirunelveli. The Manager was kind enough to accept our finding and promised to revise allowance and pay the arrears amounting to Rs.39000/-to the 77 yrs old Gallantry  award winner at an early date..

Mr.C.Ramamoorthy  and his wife were very happy and thanked us for such a help that too on their door step. They also expressed their view that but for the finding of this discrepancy by the Trust, this would have gone unnoticed.  The Trust members briefed other benefits available to a Gallantry award winner.

Our Trust is also happy in helping a Gallantry  award winner..

Very well done and keep it up.We must insist on getting the system reverted back to PCDA(P) for all updations or changes in pensionary benefits. It is PCDA(P) which should be made responsible for all updations / changes / issue of fresh entitlements etc as they have
qualified / experience staff' for such tasks rather than PDA / BANKS.

  2. Thank you very much Sir for your appreciation.

There are many who are getting less pension without knowing their entitlement. It is people like us go around and help them.
