    YET ANOTHER EX-GRATIA PENSIONER HELPED

On our recent visit to villages, we found out one Ex-Gratia pensioner was being paid less pension.

Name: .C.Somu thevar
Rank: Sepoy       No: 129698
PPO.No: S/ 808/ 2002
PDA: Canara bank,  Melapalayam, Tirunelveli-Dist, TN.

On verification of his documents and Bank pass book entries, we noticed that he was being paid only BP.600 and DA. (600+762=1362). The Dearness Pension was not taken in to account.

Immediately we contacted the PDA and informed about the discrepancy and requested them to correct the Rate of pension as 600+300+Da @ 139% = 2151.

The Manager was kind enough to accept our findings and agreed to revise the pension and pay the arrears  soon.

We also noticed  that there was no Joint Notification for family pension in favour of his wife Smt.Chidambaram.  Both the Veteran and his wife called on our office. We prepared the necessary Annexures   and requested  the PDA to forward the same to his Record office, MEG.Bangalore.

The 91 years old Veteran was so happy and the  aged couple   thanked us for this noble  voluntary service  towards Ex-Servicemen community.
