              On hearing the services of our Welfare Trust,  many widows  of SPARSH migrated pensioners have approached us for  a help in claiming family pension. 

So far, we have helped 18 widows , and all are  sanctioned and drawing their  family pension. 

Today, another widow has approached us.

We had already  informed her to bring Death Certificate, Bank pass book self, Aadhar and PAN card. And Original PPO where joint notification is mentioned. 

We   followed  all the procedure – for Reporting Death  and initiate Family pension  through SPARSH PORTAL.   Up loaded Death certificate, PPO and Bank pass book.   Received the Tocken number.  We have  instructed the widow  to contact us after 3 to 5 days  for  further  action. 

The widow was so happy and thanked us for this valuable help.

Our Trust is satisfied in helping  one more widow .

DEFENCE SALARY PACKAGE ACCOUNT WITH STATE BANK OF INDIA

 

                            

   BENEFITS  OF  DEFENCE SALARY    PAKAGE (DSP) A/C IN SBI IN BRIEF

Our MOD gas entered in to a MOU with State Bank of India  in having a DSP  accounts  for Defence  Serving as well as pensioners .    By having the DSP  account with SBI, there are many    benefits, particularly for pensioners.    All our existing  Defence pensioners  having account with SBI may  convert their  a/c to DSP  .   Some of the benefits are given below:

 

1.      If  a defence pensioner dies in an accident, his wife /NOK will get  30 lakhs.as insurance cover.

2.      There is no commission on Demand Draft.

3.      There is no commission  for transfer of funds  through NEFT/ RTGS   for any amount

4.      There is no  processing charges for Loans like Housing  loan/  Car loan  etc.

5.      There is concession of 10% in the margin money for loans.

6.      Yearly Locker Rent  10%  concession

7.      Un limited withdrawal  by ATM  in SBI branches .

8.      Defence Family pensioners  are also eligible for these benefits.

9.      If the defence pensioner  meet with an accident,  for plastic surgery, and other major surgery  ,  reasonable  amount is given.  few lacs.

10.  Still many more benefits for the family of pensioner who died in accident like Daughter”s marriage , education loan  etc 

 Our Defence pensioners  having  pension  account with SBI , may approach  the SBI branches  and convert their existing  a/c to  DSP account  and avail the  benefits.

BRIGEDIER AND ABOVE RANKS TO HAVE COMMON UNIFORM

 

In an important decision, the Army officers in the rank of brigadier and above will now have a common uniform irrespective of the regiment or corps they were inducted into.

The decision was taken after detailed deliberations during the recently concluded Army Commanders’ Conference and extensive consultations at all levels, sources said.

The headgear, shoulder rank badges, garget patches, belt and shoes of senior officers of flag rank — brigadier and above — will now be standardised and common. The flag-rank officers will now not wear any lanyard.

The  changes will be implemented from August 1, sources said.

In the Indian Army, brigadier and above officers are those who have already commanded units or battalions and are mostly posted at headquarters establishments where officers from all arms and services work and function together. A standard uniform will ensure a common identity for all senior-rank officers, sources added.

There is no change in the uniform worn by colonels and below-rank officers, sources added.

Different types of uniform and accouterments have specific association to respective arms, regiments and services in the Indian Army. This recognition with distinct identity within the arms or regiment or services is essential for junior leadership and the rank and file to

further strengthen regimental ethos which is the bedrock of soldiering.

The move to have a common uniform for brigadiers and above is aimed at having a common identity and approach in service matters amongst senior leadership, which goes beyond the boundaries of regimentation.

ONE MORE FRUITFUL RESULT OF OUR EFFORTS

                  One of our veteran Naik.S.(14322770  P )  expired on 22-05-2022.

      He was drawing his pension  through SBI.  When his Wife Smt.RadhaKrishnammal approached the Bank for switching over to Family pension, the bank Officials told her that  the account is Migrated to SPARSH, and approach Sparsh.   

The veteran had availed pension loan of Rs.300000/  from SBI. The Bank officials told the widow to  clear the loan, then only family pension will start.  Poor  widow  borrowed  from relatives and cleared the entire loan liability

Now, after 3 months,  on hearing the services of our Trust, she approached us  for a help.

We took up the case with  SPARSH and  Arty Record office,  narrating the events. After corresponding  for a long  time,  family pension was sanctioned in the month of Feb 2023. after about 10 months . But to our surprise,  there was  a recovery  of One lac  plus as  over payment .

Again we corresponded with SBI and the Sparsh authorities  informing them , the redemption of  loan with the evidence .  As there was no response, we lodged  a complaint in CPENGRAMS.

Now, the widow has received the message  that  a credit of  93913  in to her account.  She went to the Bank . got the  entry in the pass book confirming the credit.

The  worried  widow   was so happy and visited our Trust Office  and expressed her sincere gratitude to all trustees  and she honoured our Chief Liaison office Vet.Sgt.S.Kanthiah with a shawl . 

Our Trust is  happy in achieving one more  result of our efforts.

PM ASSURNCE ON OROP

 

Retired JCOs and Jawans have been agitating for a long time on issues related to improper implementation of OROP. Agitation and protests are going on in the capital and all the small and big cities of India.

 In such a situation, Honorable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi has announced a great hope of Rays for 40 lakh Armed Forces Pensioners. OROP was implemented with its diluted version for the Indian Armed Forces in 2015 under the active consideration of the government.

 

 However, it has been observed that there are many anomalies in this system and other aspects of pension fixation. The basic discrepancies noticed by the Armed Forces Pensioners are as follows

(a) The concept of One Rank One Pension is founded on the principle of fixing the same amount of pension to equally placed pensioners of a particular rank. For example, all Havildars with 24 years of service should get the same pension whether one retired in 1972 or 2022. In fact it is observed that pension of all pensioners (irrespective of rank/length of service) is not equal. Reasons for wrongly fixing pension under OROP is deliberate at the interest of the bureaucrats’ to satisfy their ego

 

 

(b) The fixation of pension should be annual and not 5 years. The pension fixed in 2019 should not be different from the pension of a pensioner retiring in 2023. 

(c) It is observed that the agitation against OROP discrepancy is basically on discrimination between two different categories of pensioners i.e. Officers and JCO/OR. According to the ESM JCO/OR Association, out of the budget allocated for payment of arrears, 95% of the amount has been paid only to retired officers, while they are no more than 5% of the pensioners. So, it clearly states that some manipulation has been done in order to fix the equal amount of pension that is drawing by the youngest pensioner of any rank.  Whereas in case of JCO/OR it is the average of maximum and minimum pension drawn by the pensioners of the particular rank and service.

 

(d) All types of Armed Forces pensioners should be considered entitled for OROP in view of their selfless service to the nation

The cases have been reported to the government authority through various means of communication and finally in the PM’s speech in Mann Ki Baat, Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modiji has assured that work is in progress to resolve the issues raised .

PM pointed that the ongoing commentary on the Government side and their activities is not required to be published.

 So, we can trust his assurance and hope that soon the discrepancies will be removed and we all will get the real benefit of OROP
