KNOW ABOUT WAR INJURY PENSION.

War injury pension is granted to persons who are injured in War  and War like activities.

The categorization of Disability – D & E are considered as war injury.

Those who died in war  are  dealt separately. Their NOK is granted with LIBERALISED FAMILY PENSION.by PPO no. F/ BC/ Year.

Injured cases are dealt separately.

There are  TWO types of War injury War injury Pension

1.     Invalided out cases - -   W I E rate  for 100% disability-   100% of reckonable emolument

2.     Discharge  / Release cases---  W I E  rate  60% of reckonable emolument .

The War injury pension consists of TWO element.

  Service Element    and War Injury Element.

War injury Pension PPO is denoted as :  D/ BC/  year,  D/corr / BC/ year  etc.

Now  with  DIGITAL  ppo NO.  eg.  1 54 2006 00054-  2300 - War injury-Invalided                                                                                                                                                                      

INVALIDED CASE:

 The injured person is boarded out as he is not fit for further service  due to his severe injuries.

SERVICE   ELEMENT:

For this category, the Service element is like any other pensioners i.e 50% of  last drawn emolument .  and the  Qualifying service  for 100% disabled cases  is taken as if he has served full term .

Note: this is modified  as per CDA cir 604- i.e  Now it is taken ,  the actual period of service rendered.

Example:  A Sepoy   Group- Y    QS:  8 yrs.    Say 100% disabled.

His Service element  as per  OROP – cir 555- table No-7   is   6185 w.e.f 1-7-2014. And after 7 CPC it is  6185 X 2.57= 15896.  W.e.f  1-1-2016.

WAR INJURY ELEMENT : 

Previously, the  Rate was fixed for  each Ranks

i.e  For Other Ranks: Rs.3100,  JCOs: 3800   and for Officers: 5200.

As per  OROP, the Rate is modified  according to Rank, group and length of service

The rate  is proportionally reduced  according to the percentage of War injury .

The minimum percentage is 50%.

Now  for a Sepoy of Gp- Y  QS: 8 yrs  War injury element - 100% 

War injury element is as per OROP-cir 555 table no: 94  is= 12370 w.e.f 1-7-2014

And  after 7 CPC  it is  12370 X 2.57=31791 w.e .f   1-1-2016

For lesser percentage, it is  proportionally reduced.

So , for  a person with 100% of War injury,  the total pension as on date will be

Service element…………6185 X2.57= 15896.00

War injury element …12370 X 2.57=31791.00

Total pension        ………………………. =47687.00 + DA

Add constant attendant Allowance     6750.00- if granted -  No DA for this allowance..

CONSTANT ATTENDANT ALLOWANCE:

It is granted to a person with 100% WIE   who are in need of  a attendant for day to day  activities,  This will be mentioned in the PPO. The Rate is  6750 from 1-7-2017

This rate will be increased by 25%  when ever the DA % is increased  more than 50%.

No DA for this Allowance.

CAA is not permitted  during the period of Re-employment, 

During  Hospitalisation as INPATIENT

And when  not employing the attendant.
