defence minister  commissioned the INS KOCHI - FULLY MADE IN OUR COUNTRY  IN  TO INDIAN NAVY.

State-of-the-art warship

• INS Kochi has been designed by the Directorate of Naval Design
• The ship is 163-m long and displaces 6,800 tonnes
• It can attain a high speed of 30 knots propelled by four gas turbines
• The Kolkata-class destroyers have advanced stealth features that allow it to pass undetected by enemy radar
• INS Kochi is packed with an array of sophisticated weapons and sensors
• The ship has many lethal weapons to her credit which include the successful fitment of vertically launched missile system for long distance engagement of shore and sea-based target
