KNOW ABOUT WAR WIDOWS POSITION

Who are called   WAR WIDOWS?

We all know that, the widows of soldiers who died in War or War like activities while in service are called  WAR WIDOWS.

They are granted with Liberalised Family pension./  It is OK.

But in case of Widows of War injured veterans –died  after discharge – how they are called , whether they are called as War widows or normal widows.  This is the question.

Practically they are called as normal widows only. E.g  One Sep V.Kandan ( 8002935) of Pioneer RO , lost his Hand during 1962 War. He was boarded out with WAR injury Pension  D/742/1972 AND later D/BC/6033/2002. He served for 2 yrs only.   He died . His wife is sanctioned with Ordinary Normal pension only.  

2.   One Nb.Sub. A. Savariraj ( JC 151186M ) of  MRC  Records lost both EYES during land Mine blast in IPK in Sri Lanka.   He was also boarded out  with War injury pension.  PPO  S/034122/1988 AND   223198800404.

 He also died .HIS  WIFE ALSO SANCTIONED WITH NORMAL FAMILY PENSION. 

There are so many cases like this.  

Now , we feel that both the type of widows may be treated as WAR WIDOW .Think , their type of pension may vary.  First case, no doubt- Liberalised Family pension. But the other type may be granted as Special Family pension or at least  ENHANCED RATE OF FAMILY PENSION till their life.  Or  their Qualifying service may be treated as if they have served for full term say 33 yrs  

If they are given Normal family pension, then there is no difference between the normal ( discharged deceased  ) families and  widows of War injured pensioners,

All our learned veterans are requested to think over  and try to put forward this case of War Widows to authorities when  ever possible.
