 PLIGHT OF WIDOWS   / PENSIONERS.

We all know that the 7^th P Commission was announced and given effect from 01-01-2016.  It is more than a year now.

The salient features is known to all of us.

As per 7 th CPC, the minimum basic pension for Central Government pensioners was fixed as 9000. i.e the existing 3500 X 2.57= 8995 ,rounded to  9000 with effect from 1-1-2016 plus applicable DA.

Accordingly, the Banks have revised the pension and paid the arrears and the revised pension being paid.

HERE , it is heartening to note  that some  of the Banks have revised the pension of WIDOWS   as 3500 plus 2% DA amounting to 3570  .

But they were already getting  a pension of 3500 plus 125%DA=7875.

The poor widows were shocked  and not knowing the reason for the sudden reduction, came to our Trust and expressed their anguish.

There were about 9 such cases  came  to our knowledge.

We immediately contacted the concerned PDAs and their CPPCs  and informed about this wrong action and requested them to correct the mistake.

We feel that there may be many such cases through out the country.
