On The
Death of An Air veteran
As and when you learn about the demise of
an Air Veteran, please send an email to <afaheadoffice@gmail.com>.
If the Family is close by, then please
advise them to send this Email to the AFA. This is irrespective, whether the
deceased was a member of the AFA India or not.
The details that must be sent include:

Name of the deceased with Rank and Service
number,
·
Dates of
Birth/Commisioning/Enrollment/discharge/retirement-as applicable. if known,
·
AFA Membership Number, if the deceased air
veteran was a member,
·
Name of the NOK/Relationship with the
deceased/present address with the PIN code/Mobile Telephone Number/Email
address
·
Funeral Details if available, Date of Death
is a must,
·
Any other information,considered relevant,
On receipt of all such intimations, The AFA
India intimates all the concerned agencies who, in turn, immediately contact
the family for further interaction.
Friends of the Family must advise the family members to definitely intimate the pension disbursing Bank Branch to stop the Veteran's pension and start the Family Pension.
The nearest IAF Unit/ Station must also be intimated and necessary help sought for dignified last rites befitting an air warrior/veteran.
