RELAXATION OF LIFE TIME ARREARS CERTIFICATE (LTA)
Of late, it has come to light that the PDAs are unable to issue the LTA certificate due to various reasons, which causes inordinate delay in sanctioning Family pension to the widows.
To avoid this delay for sanctioning , the CDA has issued a Circular No.476, wherein , the requirement of LTA has been relaxed/waived.
The Claimant/ widow has to give a Certificate in the form of an Affidavit / Indemnity bond stating that
“ Her husband/ deceased was a pensioner at the time of his/ her death. He/ She has neither been convicted / sentenced/ remarried nor changed his/ her nationality before death. If at later stage, he/ she is found in-eligible for grant of Family pension, he/ she will be liable to refund the entire amount with interest paid to his/ her as family pension.
This certificate/ affidavit should be witnessed by 2 defence pensioners.
