2ND FAMILY PENSION
Following a denial of sanctioning Defence family pension by the Record Office to the widow of
an ex-servicemen re-employed in United India Insurance Company Ltd.,
the Insurance company had issued a circular as follows.

Sub: Admissibility of Double Family Pension –
Military and Civil (our) Pension
We are pleased to inform you that the competent Authority has sanctioned pension to a person even if he/she is already in receipt of family pension under any other rules of central/state Govt. or Public Sector Undertaking/Autonomous Bodies/Local Fund under the Central/State Govt. or the Armed Forces of Union of India.
Please note that the said benefit is effective from 27th July 2001, which is the date of notification or from the date of death, whichever is early.
Now as per our above notification, Family is eligible to get military pension in addition to our pension.
We have sent circular to all our Regional Offices and you may contact them for any of your queries.
This is for your information.

Note: The same conditions are applicable for LIC and Public Sector Bank retired ex-servicemen.
All affected pensioners and family pensioners are to obtain similar letter from their banks and apply to record offices.
