CLAIM
FOR FIXED MEDICAL ALLOWANCE FROM BACK
DATE.
The concept of Fixed
Medical Allowance is from 01-12-1997.
Those who retired./was Discharged after this date, the FMA was mentioned in the
PPO itself. The Rate was Rs.100 and time to time it was enhanced and from 01-07-2017 , it is
Rs.1000/-
We understand that , even though the scheme started in
1997, still some of our veterans are not
aware , whether they are being paid with FMA or not ( Non ECHS members)
Now, after coming to know
that they are not being paid with
FMA, they want to claim FMA from back
date.
On receiving lot of
complaints and claims, our
Government has issued a circular in this regard vide their OM No:
“GOI. MF. Dept.of Expenditure : OM No; CPAO/ IT
& Tech/ Revision ( 7th
CPC / 19-Vol-III € 2019-20/ 66 dated 05-08-2019.
It is clear from the
Order that , the FMA is payable from the
date of application only, if eligible
and not from the back date.
Veterans are to note the Govt.Order and cannot claim from back date.
All our ESM Associations
and Orgs are requested to advise the
veterans in their areas suitably..
