DIFFICULTIES FACED BY BANKS IN REVISION OF PENSION FOR NAVY VETERANS.

NOTING OF RANKS  INSTEAD OF TRADES IN THE PPOs  OF NAVY

The Trades of Army and Air force  are  placed in 3 Groups-  X,Y and Z.

The ranks are from Sep to  Sub.Maj  in each group in Army.
Like wise in Air force also.

The Ranks and Groups( not trades) are clearly mentioned in each PPO.
e.g.  Raman,   Rank: Hav    Group Y    QS; 20yrs.

But in Navy,  it is different.  All our Circulars  Tabled  as
Seaman II to MCPO,    Aviation,  Technical and Non Technical
But in the PPOs, instead of Ranks  as Seaman  etc , it is denoted by  their Trades.

For Example:
C.VENUGOPAL     Rank: EMA-(1),    Group: Aviation  Qs:  8yrs..

Now , how can a Banker  decide the Rank  , whether  he is a Seaman , Leading Seaman, Petty Officer, CPO or MCPO.
All Tables in our Circulars indicate only  Rank &Group and not the Trades.

Due to this confusion, many veterans of Navy  did not get their Arrears as per Cir 555, 568 , and 570.
Bank people could not revise the pension for want of the Rank.
Only the Trades mentioned in PPO,  which is not understandable.

Even our veterans  including Navy could not  immediately classify the Rank.
Hence, it is requested that  our NAVY  Authorities may place the Trades in the Respective Groups    and note the RANK in all PPOs
Like -  C.Venugopal,  Seaman -I,  Group- X   QS; 8 yrs. .
This is easily  understandable  for any  revision  and all other purposes.
There is no difficulties faced in regards to Army and Air force.

We hope that our submission will be taken in the right spirit  to avoid delay in  Revision /calculation of arrears  and payment in time to veterans..
Many Navy veterans  have not received their Arrears due this discrepancy.
Navy veterans are requested to help Banks in this regard .
