EX-GRATIA PAYMENT / PENSION

Those Ex-servicemen who were discharged as reservist prior to 01-04-1968 were given two options.

1. To receive pension of Rs.10/- per month
.
2. To receive a Lump sum gratuity of Rs.750/- without pension.
.
As the amount of Rs.750/- was a huge amount at that time, many reservist opted for Rs.750/-
Very few reservists opted for pension.

Later on, on the death of the reservist, their families were left with nothing. Their sufferings were projected toGovernment , and the living Reservists also informed their problems to Govt.

The govt. and MOD studied the case and found it was genuine and decided as under.

The living reservist to refund the Gratuity of Rs.750/- with interest and get an Ex-Gratia payment of Rs600/-from 01-11-1997.

The families of the deceased reservist were granted an Ex-Gratia of Rs.150/-with effect from 01-01-1992.
The same was revised to Rs.605/- from 1-11-1997.

The Ex-Gratia pension is eligible for DA also.

The Family pensioners will be paid 8% less DA than V th PC rate., while the living Ex-gratia pensioners will be paid V th PC DA rate.

Dearness pension of 50% is also eligible from 1-4-2004.

As on date the Rate of Ex-Gratia pension is as under: w.e.f 01-07-2011

For Living pensioners For Family Pensioners.

Basic pension………….600.00 Basic pension……..605.00
Dearness Pension……  300.00 Dearness pension…..303.00

Ex-Gratia pensioners are not eligible for Fixed medical Allowance.

DEARNESS RELIEF FOR EX-GRATIA PAYMENT/ V th PAY COMMISION PENSIONERS INCREASED BY 12%

Rate of DA is enhanced  from 115% to 127% with effect from 01-07-2011 for Ex-Gratia pensioners drawing Rs.600/-
And  119% for Ex-Gratia Family pensioners drawing  Rs.605/- w.e.f 1-7-2011  and
The V th Pay commission pensioners  127%.

OUR TRUST EXTENDS ASSISTANCE TO CANARA BANK


                        

On recognizing  the noble services of our Welfare Trust , Officials from Canara Bank HO, invited our Trust to Assist/ guide  in UPDATING the  Defence Pension Master Data.

Our Trust , proudly  deputed our Chief Liaison Officer, Sgt.S.Kanthiah for the Task. He  went to Bangalore and Assisted the Bank officials in updating the data and returned.

The Bank officials appreciated our services and thanked us for assisting them.

HAPPY NEWS FOR POST -2006 SUBEDARS AND SUBEDAR MAJORS


Subedars and Subedar Majors and equivalent ranks, retired on or after 1-1-2006 are sanctioned pension which was less than Pre-2006 reirees ( ref. CDA Cir-430)

We had projected this Anomaly to IESM, CDA Allahabad, and MOD and few Record Offices. They had replied as the anomaly was genuine and the matter is under consideration with Government.

Now, we are happy that one Warrant Officer, Air Force has received a Corr.PPO revising the Basic pension as Rs.11970/- from 9755/-. Other affected Veterans will be receiving Corrigendum PPOs step by step. Those who have put up 28 and above service will get this benefit.

Affected Subedars, may write to their Record Office for getting revised pension.

On hearing the services of our Trust, one Widow from Kovilpatti approached us for getting her AGI Claim.(Insurance amount)

We prepared the AGI Claim -3113, duly filled, signed, attested and verified by the Notary Public, We have instructed the widow to forward the set of Claim papers to Record office through DSS& A Board, Tuticorin.

The widow was very happy and expressed her sincere thanks for all the help extended by our Trust.

A LIBERALISED FAMILY PENSIONER HELPED.


our Liaison Officer Sgt.S.Kanthiah is handing over the copy of letter addressed to PDA toSmt.Lakshimi ammal.



On our regular visits to different places, we came to know that the below mentioned widow was getting Un-revised pension.

Type of pension: A Liberalised Family pensioner.
PPO.No: F/ BC/ 469/1989 AND F/ BC/1210/2001.
PDA: Central Bank of India, Kovilpatti, Tuticorin Dist, Tamil Nadu.

On going through the pass book entries , we noticed that she was being paid basic pension of Rs.7000/- Now, the Liberalised Family pension is Enhanced as Rs.9200/ minimum with effect from 1-1-2006 as per CDA Cir 456.

We reported the discrepancy to the PDA and the Senior Manager was very kind enough to accept our findings and assured us to revise the pension and pay the arrears immediately.

The aged widow was so pleased with our voluntary service and sincerely thanked us for this help in getting a hand sum of arrears at this age.

Dear veteran brothers , please help such a family pensioners who are not aware of their entitlement.

ORDERs ISSUED FOR DA INCREASE from 01-07-2011

Dearness Allowance orders for ENHANCEMENT of DA from 51% to 58% has been issued by Finance Minsitry. Effective date 01-07-2011

Smt.Ayyammal is receiving a copy of letter sent to PDA from our Liaison Officer Sgt.S.kanthiah.

On our recent visit to Kovilpatti, we came to know that one Widow , a Special Family pensioner was drawing an Un-revised pension:

PPO.No: F / 36 / 1992
PDA: Canara bank, Kovilpatti, Tuticorin-Dist, Tamil Nadu.

The specila Family pension was Enhanced to a Minimum of Rs.7000/- as per VIth Pay Commission, CDA Cir 410 with effect from 1-1-2006. But the widow is being paid at the rate of Rs.5763/- only.

The discrepancy was reported to the Manger of the PDA and he was kind enough to accept our findings and submission. He also promised to revise the pension and pay the arrears in this month itself.

The Widow was very happy and expressed her gratitude for such a help in time by the Trust.
