Exwel Trust Executives.

Social Function – Attended by Exwel Trust.

Smt.Sultan Beevi, a dynamic women, who was instrumental in forming Two Women’s Self Help Goups for the Exwel Trust, invited the Exwel Trust’s executives for a house warming ceremony.

Smt.Sultan Beevi is exceptionally good in organizing new women self help groups. With the guidance of the Exwel Trust, there are two Women’s Self Help Groups functioning at Manakavalam Pillai nagar, near Palayamkottai. Both the groups availed loan facilities from Indian Bank and Canara Bank and are functioning well.

All the members of the Self Help groups attended the house warming ceremony of Smt.Sultan Beevi. It was a great pleasure for the Exwel Trust executives to see such a glamorous meeting among the poor ladies.

A BREAK THROUGH WITH SBI

Smt.Gamini Chandra Pushpam showing the pass book to our Chief Liaison Officer.

A BREAK THROUGH IN THE STALEMATE - STATE BANK OF INDIA PENDING CASES OF REVISION AND ARREARS.

There were many cases of non-revision of pension to family pensioners in State Bank of India

Through C P P C, Chennai. We had represented many cases but there was no response. Then, as there was no way left out, we were constrained to use the tool of Right to Information Act.(RTI)

This action of preferring RTI yielded the result. Smt. Gamini chandra Pushpam w/o Late Sub.Kovilpitchai was being paid the Minimum pension of Rs.3500/-w.e.f 1-1-2006. We Noticed the same during our pensioners meet on 25-6-2009 and we took up the case with SBI, Srivaikuntam branch and CPPC, Chennai and the correspondence was going on since Sep 2009.

Now , we applied under the RTI act on 30-6-2010 , and it yielded the fruit. Smt.Gamini is credited with an arrears amounting to Rs.108054.

Her particulars are :

Smt.Gamini Chadra pushpam w/o Late Sub. Kovilpitchai( JC 054084 ) of BEG -RURKEE

PPO No…S/014371/1990………………………….

PDA .SBI-Srivaikuntam, Tuticorin-Dist, Tamil Nadu

SB A/c No…11261595522……………………..

Arrears…108054……………………….

The pensioner Smt.Gamini called on us along with her grand-daughter to express her gratitude for all the efforts taken by the Welfare Trust and she also said that but for the Trust's intervention, she could not have got this benefit.

We had also preferred the RTI for 4 more pensioners and awaiting the pensioners report.

It is another great achievement for the persistent efforts of our trust and we move forward untiringly to serve for the needy and under paid pensioners.

Our Chief Liaison Officer Sgt.S.Kanthiah is explaining about the additonal pension and handing over a copy to Mr.Gt.Chelliah , and his daughter Miss.Elen padmavathy.

ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL MISSION OF OUR TRUST.

On our sustained visit to Indian Overseas Bank Perumalpuram branch, Tirunelveli-Dist, Tamil Nadu, We noticed that one Mr.GT.Chelliah, Ex.Hav/Clk cum Civilian Supervisor Grade II of MES (GREF)had completed 80 years of age on1-7-2005 itself but was not paid the Additional pension.

Particulars of Pensioner :

.Name : GT.Chelliah Ex.Hav/Clk ( 56009) / Supervisor Grade-II in MES

Arrearsworked out : 92016/-

We reported the discrepancy to the branch manager, and he immediately accepted our findings and agreed to revise the pension and pay the arrears.

On obtaining the Address from the Bank’s record, we started searching the residence of the pensioner but in vain. However once again we contacted the branch for correct latest address and on sustained enquiry we got the new address and located the inmate. Then we explained about our mission to Mr.GT.Chelliah and his daughter. They were overwhelmed with joy and happiness. Next day , they called on our office and we handed over a copy of arrears calculation sheet to them. We learned that his daughter Miss.Elen Padmavathy , aged 48 yrs (UN-MARRIED), sacrificed her prime youth of her life to look after his aged WIDOWED father. On this occasion we explained at length , the Eligibility of Family pension to her ( Un-Married daughter) and other allied benefits after the demise of her father. On hearing the news ,there was no bound for her joy and both of them expressed their gratitude with tears for the vital information which was hitherto unknown to them.

Our Chief Liaison Office Sgt.S.Kanthiah , personally called on the Manager , IOB Perumalpuram handed over the calculation sheet and explained the pathetic condition of Mr.GT.Chelliah and requested him to make the payment at the earliest so as to enjoy the fruit of arrears in his life time itself.

This is yet another successful mission of our Trust .
