  IDENTIFICATION OF EACH DIGIT OF

  THE 16 DIGITS IN NEW  PPO./e-PPO

After 7^th CPC,  PCDA has started issuing PPO  no  with 16 digits- with and without Notional fixation.

First 12 digits will be the  PPO number and the other 4 digits as Suffix  indicating the Type of pension.

Previously, we had Prefix  to the PPO number Like  S/C/ 123/1998   and

D/BC/ 123/1998.

The S/C   and  D/BC  was the indication of Type of pension.

Now the Prefix is completely removed and Suffix is  brought IN.

Here, Each digit has its own indication.

For example:   

Latest PPO No;         1 85 2016 00204-  0100

First Digit – indicate the Service  i.e  - Army,  Navy  and Air force.

No.  1  is for Army           No.2 for Navy     and No.3  for Air force

.4 for civilians and 5 for NPS in r/o Civilians.

Now we go and identify  the  given PPO number-185201600204- 0100

First digit : 1………Indicates  , the pensioner is from   ARMY    

Digits   Second and Third  .85  indicate  the record office of the pensioner –AMC

Digits  : 4 to 7(four)……..Indicate the year of sanction of pension…..2016

Digits  : 8 to 12)  (five)… indicate the running serial number of PPO.00204.

SUFFIX .NO.    ( FOUR )   Type of pension.

Digit  13 to 14…..Type of pension of the pensioner.  Here No.01 is Service pension  .then if there is any Corr ppo  , the number will be after this –(  15 to 16)

In the given PPO, there is no Corr PPO issued,  it is the first PPO hence it is  0100.

Suppose, there was  , say 3 Corr PPO issued later,

Then  it will be indicated as 0102/   0103/    0104   and so on up to 0149.    

Corr.ppo for JOINT NOTIFICATION WILL BE -  0150.

Note:   

If there is any major changes like  7^th CPC  or  OROP II , then the  Suffix will change.

For Example if the Notional Pay/ Pension is  implemented as per 7^th CPC,

Then the  SUFFIX No  WILL  be as  0199,    then further  Major revision

 like OROP II , it will change as   0198,  in dissenting  order.0197, 0196  and so on.

IN the normal cases, , the corr PPO will bear the Suffix numbers like, 0101,  0102,  0103 etc  Service pension revised corr ppo..

But these numbers will  vary according the  types of pension,   Like

Disability , War injury   pension,  Ordinary Family pension,  Special Family pension, Liberalised Family pension, Dependent pension, Reservist Pension and Ex-Gratia payment.etc.

For example:

Service pension with Disability – discharge  case:  0200

Service pension with war injury  - discharge case: 0400

 Disability invalided pension:2100

War injury invalided  pension: 2300

Ordinary Family pension:    3000

Special Family pension    :   3300

Liberalised Family pension :  3700  and so on

There is a Table  indicating the Suffix numbers for Different type of pensions,

Record Offices Code/  HOO code for Defence civilians ..

For Commissioned Officers,    and Civilian’s / Defence Civilians  the Suffix code are listed separately.

THIS IS THE MONTH OF LIFE CERTIFICATE.

Dear veteran brothers and Family pensioners,

November is the month of LIFE CERTIFICATE.

  All of you are advised to visit your Bank branches and submit  the LIFE CERTIFICATE.

This can be submitted  from 01-11-2019  to 30-11-2019.

If it is not submitted by 30-11-2019, the pension from December month will be stopped.

AVOID THE HARDSHIP .

All veterans are requested to guide others  including family pensioners  to submit .

Dear veteran brothers, 

  of late it has come to light that, the DATE OF BIRTH  of some veterans are incorrectly recorded  in the Banks DATA  BASE.

Due to this, the payment of ADDITIONAL PENSION  for veterans above the age of 80yrs  is delayed.

On our case study, TWO examples are given below:

Actual Date of Birth of a veteran as per Matriculation/  SSLC certificate is 27-5-1940,

But in the Bank record it is shown as  01-01-1942,

Thus  a gap of 2 years-  Late for getting Additional pension.

IN ANOTHER CASE:

Actual date of birth as per record office and Aadhar, PAN card  is  23-7-1943

But  in the Bank’s record it is  23-4-1929……..no idea how it is.

Hence, the veteran is being paid ADDITIONAL pension , even though he has not attained the age of 80 years of age.

THIS IS THE HAPPENINGS

In one case, a delayed payment  but in another case it is over payment  and recovery.

On coming to know these happenings, PCDA has recently issued

a CIR No.209 dated .14-5-19,

advising the PENSIONERS  to inform such  discrepancy  in their  DOB  to Pension Sanctioning Authority   through their respective RECORD OFFICES  FOR ISSUING A CORR PPO  indicating the actual Date of Birth.

All veterans are advised to check up their Date of birth with the monthly PENSION SLIP   and if there is any variation,  write to their Record office  enclosing the copies of School Certificate, Aadhar card. PAN card, Pass port etc. for issuing CORR PPO.

All veteran brothers are requested to pass on this message to other veterans also.

MEETING WITH CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF AND CHAIRMAN CHIEF OF STAFF COMMITTEE – 25 Oct2019

 

 

A delegation of Indian Ex-Services League led by Brig Kartar Singh,

President Indian Ex-Services League comprising of following (all retd) met Chief of Army Staff and Chairman Chief of Staff Committee

on 25 Oct 2019:-

          (a)     Brig Kartar Singh  – President Indian Ex-Services League.

          (b)     Brig Inder Mohan –   Vice President.

          (c)     Sub SD Sharma   –   Vice President.

          (d)     Vice Admiral Paras Nath, AVSM, VSM,

          nominated member, Navy.

          (e)     AVM RP Mishra, nominated member, AF.

2.       The following points were discussed/handed over to the Chief:-

          (a)  OROP, as due from 01 Jul 2019 should be given with arrears to      all ESM as applicable, as per OROP Notification No 12(1)/2014/D      (Pen/Pol)-Part-II dated 07 Nov 2015 and implementation instructions        issued vide 12(1)/2014/D(Pen/Policy)-Part-II dated 03 Feb 2016.

                (b)     Central Pension Disbursement System (CPDS) should first be         run as a pilot project. Pension payment Banks must be established     employing CGDA pers and ESM to ensure proper grievance  resolution mechanism.  A detailed discussion is needed with     the Stake holders to finalise this issue on priority.

               (c)   ECHS is being flogged time and again for shortage of funds,     shortage of medicines and lack of empaneled hospitals.

          

3.          The Chief of Army Staff and Chairman Chief of Staff Committee gave patient hearing and assured taking up the case with the Govt.
