Good News for Pre-2006 Pensioners (Veterans): Veteran Prabhjot Singh Chhatwal PLS Retd.

Dear Veterans,

Regards. There is a good news for pre-2006 pensioners (Veterans) ahead.

As per my personal discussion with Sh. Harbans Singh,Director Pension, Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence, the Committee(constituted on the instructions from Prime Minister),has submitted its report to Ministry of Defence and orders relating to Modified Parity in Pension for Pre-2006 Defence Pensioner are likely to be issued soon. But he was not committed to give any information about the date of issuance of notification.

Pre- 2006 Pensioners are also likely to get disability pension on percentage basis like Post- 2006 Pensioners. Pre-2006 Hony. N/Subs are also going to get pension of regular N/Subs. like Post-2006 Hony.N/Subs. We should be very clear about the fact that no Govt. can afford to grant One Rank One Pension as was demanded in joint Memorandum submitted by a group of organizations on 14th Oct. 2009.

Have a Good day and move forward to a Grand New Year '2010'.

AN ENCOURAGING COMMENT FROM DISTANT CONTINENT

gentle said... Dear Veteran Brothers,

You are indeed a great asset to not only the ex-servicemen & their families but also to the rest of the society as the torch bearers to serve the needy amongst us all who deserve the kind of attention given by an exemplary method of service to others without any motive of rewards or recognition in a selfless manner.
I only wish that others should emulate you & serve to fulfill the needs of those who deserve it the most.

EXWEL volunteers like the veterans , Mr Kandiah & Mr Natrajan deserve to be praised/ recognized by all of us & I do feel proud of these Veterans role in helping the Ex-servicemen & their families.

YET ANOTHER ACHIEVEMENT BY OUR TRUST

Smt.Velammal M/O Late Recruit Mariappan (6489697) was sanctioned with Special Family Pension after the death of her son vide PPO No.F/ 871/ 97.

THE MANAGING TRUSTEE SGT R CHELLAPPA (Retd) handing over the relevant calculation sheet> Sgt S Kandhiah (Retd) Cheif liaison Officer looks on.

She was being paid with Normal family pension from the date of sanction instead of Special family pension. Her pension was revised as 1275/ 3500 instead of 2550/ 7000 as per VI th Pay commission. Our Chief Liaison officer Sgt.S.Kanthiah ( Retd) noticed the same during our special interaction with pensioners at Shenkottai. He ,after careful scrutiny of the case, informed the same to the Bank Officials (PDA), but they were not satisfied with his submission and were not prepared to correct the eligible rate of pension. Then we were constrained to take up the case to the concerned Army Record Office, ASC (AT) at Gaya explaining the present payment details with DUE /DRAWN statement. The Record Office was prompt in responding our representation by confirming the correctness of our working sheet. They instructed the PDA to revise the correct Rate of Special Family Pension as per our calculation and pay the arrears immediately. The Bank also revised the Special Family pension and paid the Arrears to the poor widow amounting to Rs.393527/- on 30-11-2009 as per our calculation. Our Trust is proud of scoring one more goal to our untiring efforts. This is another feather in our Cap. We opine that there are still many more such poor widows at large all over the country are made to suffer silently. We hope that authorities concerned will evolve some system to mitigate the sufferings of such pensioners.
