UNFORTUNATE HAPPENINGS IN BANKS - FOR PENSIONERS




UNFORTUNATE HAPPENINGS IN BANK – PENSION MATTERS.

1.     Date of birth wrongly entered in DATA  -   Date of enrollment is punched as Date of Birth, hence Additional pension is delayed.
2.     Enhanced Rate of Family pension  being paid beyond the due date  leading to Recovery  - Hardship to widows.
3.     Fixed medical Allowance being paid  for ECHS members – not stopped even after the member’s request.
4.     Banks demand refund of the FMA drawn  in lump sum. The recovery should be accepted in installment.
5.     The DA rate  is not revised for Ex-Gratia pensioners in time- Most cases.
6.     Additional pension is not effected in time as the DOB is not correctly updated.cir 209
7.     Switching over to Family Pension after the death of pensioner  takes very long time  even though Joint notification/ Joint a/c existing.
8.     Broad banding of Disability Element is delayed  abnormally – e.g  PPO for revision issued in 2018, but bank wants to confirm the non revision from 2002 which is unreasonable.
9.     CDA has sent PPO in 1997 for commencement of Pension, but PPO not received/ lost by Bank, hence pension not commenced. After many complaints, the bank has now applied for DUPLICATE PPO  after 20yrs.
10.                        Liberalised Family Pension  not revised after 24-09-2012.  After repeated  complaints to CPPC, chairman, Pension Adalat and Ombudsman- RBI, the LFP is now revised.
11.                        Pension claim is settled after an abnormal delay. By this time, pensioner died,  the legal heirs  claiming arrears- LTA
12.                        The death claim is not settled by the Bank-Pensioner died in 2015- Pension being credited  for another 2 yrs. His loan is cleared by this wrong credit,
After, noticing the event, the claim is now settled in 2020.
13.                        Pensioner died, Bank is informed, but the pension being credited , leading to recovery  Hardship to family pensioner.
14.                        Hony.Nb.Sub is being paid Havildar pension  even after repeated  representation.  A case of 1986  is still not settled.  PPO available.
15.                         Some  Widow of Hony,Nb.Sub is still being paid pension for the Rank of Havildar. Correspondence going on.
16.                         Types of Family pension not properly classified – Special / Liberalised Family pensioner  being paid Normal family pension.
17.                        Request for Stoppage of Fixed Medical Allowance  is not issued by the Branch.  Pensioner advised to approach their CPPC for the certificate.
Branch can accept and forward it to CPPC.
18.                        Some Bank is insisting to open a fresh SB a/c when there is Joint a/c  which is not required.
19.                         Some Banks  demand  Form 14 for  switching over to Family pension which is not required when Joint Notification and Joint account is available.
20.                        Life certificate submitted in time , misplaced by Bank , and pension is stopped.  Pensioner is put in to mental Agony and hardship..
