ARTICLE REMINDED- DEFENCE SALARY PACKAGE ACCOUNT

 

Dear Veteran brothers,

We understand that, still many of our veteran brothers are not aware of the DSP – DEFENCE SALARY PACKAGE ACCOUNT.  When you are in service, you might have opened Bank account , mostly in State Bank Of India.That account is called DSP

.It is OK. But after discharge/Retirement from service, The DSP – Salary account is to be converted  as Defence pension Account.  Please check the first page of Pass Book, where the Type of account may be  Savings Normal  or DSP.  This is to be changed as  Def Pen Gold ,Platinum ect according to our Ranks.   If it is not there,  you have to give an application for converting in to Defence Pension account. This is to avail many benefits like Accident Death  If this account holder happens to meet an accident and died, his NOK will be given an amount of 50 lacs  from Insurance company. This is the Major benefit.  Many more benefits as  under.

1.Zero balance account with no charges for maintaining minimum balance.

2. Free Un-limited ATM transactions across  all banks ATMs in India

3.Free multi-city cheques, demand drafts and SMS alert.   No commission.

4.Free online fund transfers via NEFT and RTGs.

INDIAN AIR FIRCE IS PLANING TO UPGRADE HELICOPTER WARFARE

 

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is preparing a major technological upgrade to strengthen its anti-drone warfare capabilities by equipping its attack helicopters with Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered radar systems, specialised micro-missiles, and advanced electronic warfare equipment. The initiative is part of India’s broader military modernisation programme following the lessons learnt from recent conflicts, where drones and loitering munitions emerged as game-changing weapons.

The proposed capability aims to transform helicopters such as the AH-64E Apache and the indigenous Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) Prachand into agile airborne drone hunters capable of detecting, identifying and destroying hostile unmanned aerial systems (UAS) before they can threaten military installations or frontline troops.

Dear friends,

July 26 is Kargil Vijay Diwas,  anniversary of the Kargil conflict during which as many as 527 Indian military personnel were martyred and 1,363 severely wounded. Four Param Vir Chakras were awarded, two posthumously and nine Maha Vir Chakras were awarded, six posthumously besides 55 Vir Chakras.

Several households – both military and non-military ones – have appreciatively adopted the poignant ceremony of lighting candles at home in the past many  years.

You are requested to light a candle each at your residences' entrances and lay a marigold each by its side at 2000 hrs after saying a prayer for those who did not come back. This may additionally be done at offices.

NEW VICE CHIEF OF INDIAN AIR FORCE

appointed  as the next VICE CHIEF  OF INDIAN AIR FORCE  (VCAS) ON 5th June 2026.

He is scheduled to assume  office on 1st July 2026..

We congratulate him on his elevation  and wish him all the best.

FREE MEDICAL CAMP FOR EX-SERVICEMEN AND FAMILIES ON 13-06-2026

 

Our Canteen Manager  Col.Alwin(Retd)  is being tested for   BP. and our Gen.Secretary   Vet,Sgt.K.Chelladurai and    M.Murugan, PRO from Shifa Hospital  and a  Doctor are present.

A free Medical camp for  our Ex-Servicemen and Families was arranged by our 

 TIRUNELVELI EXSERVICEMEN WELFARE ASSOCIATION   and

SHIFA HOSPITAL , Tirunelveli today  13-06-2026 in our Military canteen premises.

The camp was started with Tests with our Canteen Manager, Col. ALWIN (Retd) AND Asst,Manager . Hony.Capt..LAWRENCE. 

More than 100 ex-servicemen and families  participated   . 2 Doctors and about 10  Medical Staffs from Shifa Hospital  performed the tests.  It was a LIVELY day.  The camp was very useful and appreciated by all the participants.

The Tests were  ECC, ECHO, Blood Pressure, Pulse checking , Sugar checking  etc..

Our Association had arranged for tasty  LUNCH for all the participants..

 We have 3 Directorates for  THREE SERVICES  Namely:

DAV:  Directorate of Air Veterans-  Deals with all problem of Air Veterans and Families including   NCEs

DESA:   Directorate of Ex-Servicemen Affairs : Deals with all problems of Navy Veterans and families. 

DIAV  : Directorate of Indian Army Veterans-  Deals with all problems of Army veterans and families

  Now a new Window is launched    from November 2022 named   VSK   -  VEERANAGA SEVA KENDRA

VSK : created exclusively  for dealing  with all problems of  Family pensioners. Like  late sanction of family pension,  incorrect rate,  abnormal delay in switching over to family pension after demise of ESM etc.

VSK functions as a single window support system. It will  contact all Record Offices, Sparsh and PCDA independently

Here is an important  message :  This VSK is completely manned by Family pensioners  only. 

  So that S the problems for family pensioners are properly  understood and dealt  with

At present , this VSK  is functioning in the same premises of DIAV;

REVISED RATE OF PENSION FOR HONY.OFFICERS OF 32.5 YRS OF SERVICE

 Dear Veteran brothers,

We remind  our Hony. Officers and  MCPO-I and equivalent  ranks,  who have served  for   32.5 yrs , to check up their rate of pension.

They will be considered for pension for 33 yrs of service pension.  Previously , they were paid for 32.5 yrs  and below only.

As per Sparsh  Circular 679,   those who have served for 32.5 yrs , will be considered for 33 yrs of service pension.

Our Trust, had identified many and got them the revised pension and eligible arrears.   

That is, Revised Rate  46300 but existing Rate 41532-. 

If any Hony.Officer has not received the revised Rate, please go through the given chart and approach your Bank

 or  Sparsh for getting the benefit.
