SMT.VELAMMAL W/O LATE VETERAN GNR MARK
One veteran GNR MARK was drawing pension and died on 22-07-2001.
Name: MARK Rank: GNR Service No: 1199769 Gp- Y QS: 18.6 yrs
Name of Spouse: VELAMMAL
There was Part II order publication for marriage, but no Joint Notification as he was a pre-1986 retiree .
Due to some dispute , son of veteran , migrated to some other place and carried the documents of veteran. The widow was having only the ESM ID card.
She approached the PDA for family pension, but the PDA informed her, as there is no Joint Notification, we can not switch over to family pension. The widow thought that she is not eligible for pension.
After many years, on hearing the services of our welfare Trust, she visited our Trust and narrated the Happenings. We represented the case to Arty Record office with the copy of death certificate and ESM ID card for help.
Arty Record was kind enough to reply and guided us with the Family pension claim form Sets.
We prepared the Claim Form, duly filled ,signed and attested and forwarded. They raised some observations, which was rectified . But they insisted for LTA certificate from Bank. The Bank officials denied stating that , as the case is of very old one, there is record available , and advised her to approach Treasury .
Treasury Office informed that, the pension papers already migrated to Bank, hence no record available.
We prepared the CERTIFICATE IN LIUE OF LTA as per CDA circular 389 and 476. But the RO insisted for LTA certificate from Bank only. We reported this to Dte.of Indian Army Veterans, New Delhi , questioning the purpose of the Circular. DIAV advised the RO for consideration..
In the mean time , we demanded LTA certificate from Bank through RTI. CPPC of Bank , IOB replied as,
“ As the case is very old, we express our inability to issue the LTA certificate. “
We forwarded this reply to Record Office for consideration. On receipt of this reply, RO had forwarded the documents to PCDA for sanctioning Family pension.
Due to this long , untiring efforts and correspondence for more than 2 years, now the Widow is sanctioned with Ordinary family pension with effect from 23-07-2001 . PDA: SBI
The arrears from 23-07-2001 to 31-03-2022 also paid..
The widow was so happy and visited our Trust Office and expressed her sincere gratitude for all the guidance and help in getting her pension.
Our Trust is also happy in achieving a fruitful result of our untiring efforts.
