Many of our Veterans want to know about the
Types and Rates of Family pension;
We had already published early .We are once
again publishing for the benefits of our veterans.
TYPES OF FAMILY PENSION;
1
Normal Ordinary Family pension.
2. Normal Enhanced Rate of Family pension
3.
Special Family pension - 2nd award of special Family pension
4. Liberalised
Family pension - 2nd award of Liberalised Family pension

RATES OF FAMILY PENSION: RANK AND GROUP- QUALIFYING SERVICE
Normal
Ordinary Family pension is 30% of Reckonable Emolument Normal
Enhanced Rate of
Family pension is 50% of Reckonable emolument.
Special Family pension is 60 % of
Reckonable Emolument
Liberalised Family pension is 100% of Reckonable emolument
.
Divided Family pension is shared at 50% for each- as per instructions from
Authorities
2nd Wife and One child of First wife, Wife and Parents of Deceased
soldier etc..
As we may not know the Reckonable Emolument , it is easy to arrive
the Rate from the pension of veteran/ deceased veteran
As on Date , it is as
follows:
Normal Ordinary Family pension is 60% of veterans pension.
Normal
Enhanced Rate of Family pension is 100% of veterans pension.
Special Family
pension is 120% of veterans Pension 2nd Award of Special Family pension is 50 %
of Special family pension.
Liberalised Family pension: Normally , it is granted
for those who are killed in war or War like activities. Hence, the Reckonable
emolument of deceased soldier will be the Rate.
At a glance, it is 200% of
veteran’s pension
. FOR EXAMPLE:
Let us take a case of say Hav- Gp- Y QS; 20
yrs.
As per Table 7 of OROP- 7795X2.57=20034 -as on 1-1-16
OFP…………20034 X 60%....=12020
ENHANCED Rate : 20034 X 100%=
20034
SFP……….. 20034 X 120% =24040
Lib,FP……. 20034 X 200% = 40078
Likewise, we
can arrive for all Ranks- Cross check from OROP Tables.
Eg: OROP ( cir 555(
Table No.25 Havildar- Group- Y QS: 20 yrs as above: 4677 X 2.57= 12020

20034 X60%= 12020---OFP
Likewise we can calculate for all the Ranks in both the
method.
