MISMATCHING OF NAME AND DOB OF SPOUSE -
IN PPO, AADHAR / PAN CARDS AND BANK PASS BOOK
Of late ,we understand
that, there are many cases of Mismatching of Name and
Date of birth of spouse of
our military veterans.
Due to this, the banks are
not releasing the Family pension on demise of veteran.
We have published this
subject in our Blog time and again.
i.e : Name and Date of birth of spouse must be
same in the PPO and Aadhar / PAN cards and the Bank Joint account.
Even a single letter is
misspelled , say PARVATHY- PARVATHI- it
is rejected. Like wise date of birth also.
We also notice that, some Banks have allowed Joint a/c with the spouse Name incorrectly- As per Government order,
CPAO/ Tech / Amendments/ Sch-Book/ 2005-06/ 69 dated 09-06-2005,
the spouse name as mentioned in the
PPO only to be added to Joint A/c but it is not followed by Banks.
CASE 1
e.g.: Name of spouse in the PPO and Aadhar …
Annamalai
But in the Joint A/c it is
…P.Annamalai Ammal, hence Mismatching.
Here, the Bank should have
added the name as mentioned in the PPO
only and not as per the pensioners request or otherwise.
Now, the pensioner died on
say 31-7-2020, and widow approached the
Bank for switching over to Family
pension.
Bank officials say, that the name of spouse in the PPO and the Joint A/c does not match, hence pension could not be released. It is about ONE year passed.
The widow approached us
for a help.
We noticed the discrepancy
– Name in the PPO and Aadhar/ PAN cards Matches but
only in the Bank Joint A/c there is difference. Bank has not followed
the Government order properly, hence the
problem. How did the Bank added the name
as P.Annamalai ammal when the Name in
the PPO is only Annamalai.
Immediately, we contacted
the bank, explained the error at the Bank
and requested them to correct the DATA at Bank,s Record and release the family pension with out further
Delay. Bank agreed with our submission and released the
family pension with one year Arrears.
CASE: 2
Name in the PPO: U.Chandra M devar. Aadhar Card: Chandra S
Bank has Joint account
as Chandra Sudalaimuthu. Pensioner Died .
Bank says, the name of
spouse does not tally, hence cannot release family pension. Here also, How the bank allowed joint a/c
as Chandra Sudalaimuthu. when the name
in PPO is different. Bank has not
followed Govt. order.
ULTIMATELY , THE SUFFERER
IS THE POOR WIDOW has to undergo the Hardship..
Likewise there are so many of such cases .
All our veterans are once
again requested to verify immediately that the name in PPO, Aadhar/PAN card and
Joint A/c is the same including Date of birth. If not matching,
take immediate steps to rectify MISTAKE to avoid the
hardships to families latter.
