GOOD NEWS – FAMILY PENSION
There was Regulation No.64 (b) in Pension Regulation for Army,
Part I (2008),
Under which, a minimum of 7 yrs of continuous qualifying service is required for grant of family pension for Armed Forces Personnel.This clause is deleted from 01-10-2019 vide MOD letter dated 05-10-2020.
Government Amends Rule 54 of CCS ( Pension ) Rules, 1972 by which
“ Government Servants, who died while in service/ invalided out even with less than 7 years of qualifying service , whose families shall be eligible for Normal Family pension “
Under the new order, where an Armed Forces Personnel died while service within 10 yrs of service before 01-10-2019 without completing 7 yrs , his family shall also be eligible for Enhanced rate of Family pension with effect from 01-10-2019.
ENHANCED RATE OF FAMILY PENSION FOR 10 YEARS.
The affected families may apply for family pension to their Record Office for Grant of Family pension under this Rule.
All our ESM Associations and Organisations are requested to guide and help the affected widows in their areas and this act will be of a noble service.
