On hearing the services of our Welfare Trust , the below mentioned widow  called on us for a help  .

Name: Smt.R.Kaliammal   M/O  Late Sep.R. Jegadeesh Kuma ( 14412824Y)

The sepoy died while in service in the year 1996 ( 18-10-1996).  As he was a un-married , his mother was sanctioned with Family pension .Vide: F/NA/2445/1997

Unfortunately, the PPO was not received by her and the Bank.

The Lady visited the bank many a time, and was informed that they have not received the PPO.  After some times, the Lady thought that  she is not eligible for pension.

On hearing about our service, the Lady visited our office and explained the events.  On going through the available papers with her,  we noticed that she is eligible for pension.

We wrote to Record office  in this regard and received a reply with a copy  of  PPO which was issued in 1997 itself.

Now we have taken up the case with Bank, Record Office  and CDA  for disbursement of Family pension with Arrears Calculation from 19-10-1996 to 30-9-2018.

As it is very late  only Time barred Claim to be made.

The innocent Lady was so happy with our action  and sincerely thanked us for this valuable help.

INJUSTICE TO WAR INJURED VETERANS

 WAR INJURED VETERAN SEP. V.KANDAN-  100%  W.I.E

PCDA has issued a cir No.604, which is very much disadvantage to our
Invalded war injured veterans.

As per CDA cir 456 and 560,  the service Element for invalided  wi  veterans,  was taken as if the   veteran had served for full length of service for the Rank and Group.  And War Injury Element as per the percentage  granted.

Now, as per Cir 604, it says, that as per 6th CPC  and Cir 568,  the service pension is calculated at 50% of Emolument drawn at the time of discharge irrespective of length of service.  This applicable for War injured  invalided persons also.

Now we  look for an Illustration    and difference  on these  TWO  circulars:

Let uis take  a Rank of Sepoy-    Group-  Y      QS=  6 yrs -  WIE- 100%  Invalided .

 As per Cir 456  & 560
Service Element…..Full term ( 28 yrs)..  7070.00   OROP  Table No.7
War Injury Element …..100%             …11735.00    OROP Table No.94
                    Total……………………………..   18805.00  + DA…………….
As per   7th CPC…………………………….       18805 X 2.57= 48329.00 +DA… ( 1 )

 As per latest Cir 604…..
Service Element  for 6 yrs………..     5868.00   …OROP….Table No: 7
War injury element  100%.........   11735.00   .. OROP….Table No:94
                                    Total………….    17603.00   + DA
As per 7th CPC  …………………………..17603 X 2.57=45240   +DA………………( 2 )

Now let us see the difference in Basic  = 48320-45240=3080   + DA
U
The veteran will be looser by this amount per month due to this
new circular No. 604.

All our ESM Associations and Organisations  are requested to bring this
Anomaly to our Defence Minister, MOD ,DESW and PCDA.
