ENHANCED RATE OF FAMILY PENSION

MESSAGES ON DEAF EAR

REGARDING ENHANCED RATE OF FAMILY PENSION

The Govt.decision on the recommendation of V th CPC on revision of Enhanced rate of family pension for pre 1996 as per No.6(1)/ 99/D/ (Pen/Services) dated 5-10-1999 is as follows:

The revised ERFP as on 1-1-1996 will be 50% of the minimum of the revised scale of the Rank and group or the revised pension admissible in accordance with the provision as per AI 51 of 80 as amended from time to time, whichever is lower.

Also, this revised Enhanced Rate will be restricted to the notional revised pension as on 1-1-1996.(MOD Ltr. Dt.14-7-1998) This order is existing from 1-1-1996.

In spite of our repeated representation and appeals to MOD and the PCDA and many record offices, there is no response or the confirmation of the unrevised rate which is mostly the Normal rate of 3500 making no difference between Enhanced and the Normal rate of Family pension. The Banks are consolidating the Rate mentioned in the Original PPOs issued years back.

May we request all our Major ESM associations to take up the case seriously and help the poor and uncared young widows?

HON. COMMISSIONED OFFICER PENSION

DISCRIMINATION IN FIXATION OF BASIC PENSION FOR HONY.LTS AND CAPTS AS PER VI TH CPC

The Hony.Lts and Capts are considered neither as JCOs Nor Regular officers. They are completely neglected, even though they have served for maximum length of service.

Their pension is not notionally fixed as per JCOs . The pension is fixed in the Pay Band 3 but at the minimum scale of pay, considering their service as ONE year in the Rank which is completely in justice.

Revised Pension in respect of Pre-1-6-1953 Viceroy Commissioned Hony. Lts and Capts are revised as 15465 and 16145 respectively. View the Table 133 of CDA cir 430:

Rank Existing BP Improved Improved Consolidate Pen Revised as per Cir 430

Viceroy 1-1-96 W/O DP With DP as per VI th CPC table 133 w.e.f 1-7-2009

Hony Lt. 4967 5250 7875 13500 15465

Hony.capt. 5116 5425 8138 13850 16145

____________________________________________________________________________

This same rate of pension is to be applicable for Sub/ Sub.Majs. granted with Hony ranks also.

We are very much in doubt whether any such category of officers are alive on this day. When the pension is revised for non-existing officers as 15465 and 16145, why not the same revision for those Hony.Lts and capts who are alive in their fag end of life. It is a matter for debate.

This discrimination is to be removed . Many affected officers have approached Courts /AFTs and got the judgments in their favour but not executed till date. This is how the Defence veterans are ill treated by MOD/ Govt.

All major ESM associations should fight with all their might to remove the discrimination.

YET ANOTHER 80YRS AND ABOVE PENSIONER HELPED 24 TH CASE.

Veteran O.Perumal receiving a copy of letters sent to PDA for additional pension from our Chief Admin.Offier Hony.Flt.Lt.M.Packia Natarajan.

Due to our untiring efforts in helping the veterans, one Sepoy from a remote village, called on us to verify the correctness of his pension.

Name: O.PERUMAL Rank: Sapper No; 1317602 RO- MEG. D.O.B 1-1-1928.

PDA: SBI Srivaikuntam, Tuticorin Dist , Tamil Nadu

On scrutinizing his pension and other papers, we confirmed that his pension is correctly paid.

But, as his date of birth was 1-1-1928, he had completed 80 yrs of age in the year 2008 itself, hence he was eligible for an additional pension of 20%. Which was not paid.

Immediately we reported the Discrepancy to the PDA and their CPPC at Chennai for payment of Additional pension with effect from 1-1-2008.

The aged veteran was immensely happy and thanked us for this timely help.

Our Trust is also happy in extending help in getting additional pension for one more Octogenarian , the 24 th one.
