ONE MORE VETERAN HELPED




 Veteran  Alaguraj  is expressing his thanks to our Liaison Officer Sgt.S.Kanthiah Veteran..



The below mentioned veteran called on us for verifying the correctness of his Rate  of  pension.

 On going through his available paper, we confirmed that he is being paid correct rate of pension as per CDA cir 501.

We also noriced that he is  a member of ECHS but  being paid the FMA  of Rs.500/ per month.  We advised him to report the same to his PDA  to stop the same immediately.
We have also informed  his CPPC for stopping the  FMA.
The veteran was happy of our action and thanked us  for the valuable help.

EXPERT COMMITEE SUBMITS REOPT ON WAYS TO CURB LITIGATION.

The five member committee , comprising  Major.NavdeepSingh( Lawyer),  Major DP.Singh ( Kargil War Amputee) , Former Adj.Gen. Lt.Gen.Makesh Seherwal  have submitted a 509 pages report to Defence Minister Parikkar on Tuesday.


It seems that the Report has  touched upon various aspects of Litigation  on  pension, Service matters ,Discipline , vigilance and promotion issues.

ESM VETERAN LEADERS TO APPROACH SUPREME COURT ON OROP CASE.


Our ESM leaders and Ex-Servicemen community is not happy with the present OROP  anouncement.

Hence, the dis-satisfied leaders are planing to approach the Supreme court  for removing the Anonmalies.

The veterans’ fight for the implementation of One Rank One Pension (OROP) according to its original definition is set to enter a new phase with the battle now being taken to the Supreme Court.

Senior advocate Ram Jethmalani has offered his services as the legal counsel for the army veterans. Addressing the media in Chandigarh on Sunday, Maj Gen Satbir Singh (retd), who has been leading a protest for OROP at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi for the past 161 days, said the president of Bar Council of India, Dushyant A Dave has also offered to fight for the veterans’ cause, along with his team, in the apex court for free.

DIGNIFIED LAST RITES TO AIR VETERANS

Introduction

1.         IAF has adequate welfare measures in place to support the NoK of deceased Air Veterans. However, no scheme exists to carry out the last rites of Air Veterans in a dignified manner.

Applicability

2.         The scheme would be applicable to all Air veterans i.e. Officers, Airmen and NCs(E) who are authorised a canteen card/PPO.

The Procedure

3.         The NoK are expected to inform the news of demise to SWO/Adjt/A Adm O. On receipt of information of the demise of an Air Veteran, the nearest Air Force Station (under whose municipal limits the funeral is planned) is to detail a representative of appropriate seniority (same or one rank lower). The detailed representative shall: -

            (a)        Contact the family of the deceased to ascertain funeral details.

            (b)        Inform the AOC/Stn Cdr about the funeral plans.

(c)        AOC/Stn Cdr is to ensure that the detailed representative is accompanied by adequate number of personnel, attend the funeral, drape the coffin/bier with IAF Ensign and lay a wreath on behalf of the CAS. Before the cremation/burial, the IAF Ensign is to be removed, correctly folded and handed over to the NoK (if so desired) or otherwise brought back to the Stn/Unit. 

(d)       The nearest Air Force Station (within municipal limits) is also to provide a grant of Rs 7500/- from SI for the funeral arrangements to the NoK. Amount would be subsequently  reimburses to the SI by IAFBA.

(e)        In cases where the funeral is planned in fringes near the municipal limits of the nearest Air Force Stations, the AOC/Stn is the final authority to decide on the details of assistance to be provided depending on availability of resources at the Station.

(f)        In cases of funeral planned outside the municipal limits of the nearest AF Station, the NoK is to seek the grant of Rs 75000/- directly from IAFBA. All such claims shall be duly supported by the following documents: - 

                        (i)         A written information of death by the widow/NoK.

(ii)        A copy of PPO/cory of URC card duly attested by a gazetted officer/sarpanch etc.

(iii)       A copy of death certificate duly attested by a gazetted officer/sarpanch of the Village Panchayat, as applicable.

4.         The OIC Samvedna Cell (Adjt) and SWO of the Stn/Unit would ensure that the procedure as mentioned is correctly followed. OIC Samvedna Cell (Adjt) is to intimate by signal the demise of Air Veteran to the Dte of Air Veterans and IAFBA………………………..

WE ARE VERY PROUD  TO SALUTE OUR  MAJOR DP.SINGH, A DISABLED SOLDIER  WHO MADE A RECORD IN MARATHON RACE.


MEET OUR MAJOR DP.SINGH , THE MAN WHO FOUGHT HIS DISABILITY TO RUN MARATHON RACE.

An Explotion during the Kargil conflict let OurMajor DP.Singh with out a Leg.
But the Brave, the feisty Army Major  fought his disability  to become a celebrated Sportsman, a Marathon Runner.

ONE MORE VETERAN HELPED FOR ENDORSEMENT OF FAMILY PENSION-DSC.





 Veteran K.kandaswamy is expressing his thanks to our Liaison Officer.

ONE MORE VETERAN HELPED FOR ENDORSEMENT OF FAMILY PENSION-  DSC.  THIS IS THE FIRST SUCH CASE.
One Naik called on us  for endorsement of Family pension for the Second Service in DSC.
Name: K.Kandaswamy  ( 2574127 M)     Rank: Naik   Re-employed in DSC after Discharge from MRC.
As per CDA cir 513, the  Retirees from DSC are also eligible for DUAL Family pension.
We had represented the same to DSC  and the veteran has received the required Application for Endorsement of Family pension.
We have now filled up the Form Appendix- 1, Annexure-II  , got it signed, attested and guided him to forward the same to his DSC record Office.
The veteran was so happy of our action and sincerely thanked us for the valuable help.
Our Trust is happy in helping one more veteran.
